The Forager Food Co. is a Tasmanian-based manufacturer specialising in premium freeze‑dried food products. Established in 2009, the company has grown into Australia’s largest and most advanced freeze‑drying processor. Key facilities are located at Red Hills, Western Junction, and Scottsdale in northern Tasmania.
Their operations include eight state‑of‑the‑art freeze‑dryers capable of processing approximately 4,490 tonnes of wet product annually. These are supported by full-service production capabilities: ambient, chilled and frozen storage; processing; packing; despatch; and logistics. Forager also operates a ready meals facility, participates in R&D collaborations (with CFI, CSIRO, University of Tasmania, Defence), and offers contract manufacturing and product development services, making them a strong partner for brands seeking to develop freeze‑dried or shelf‑stable food solutions.
